Sacred Sexuality

Sex in today's society is regarded by many with negativity. It remains a mostly taboo subject because there is so much shame and guilt associated with it. Today's sex education is minimal and is seriously lacking when it comes to relationships or how to make love. So men turn to pornography and X-rated movies. Of course these do not portray the needs of women accurately since they are designed solely for men and therefore their focus is very visual. Whereas, for women, there's really only  written articles. And so because both sexes are so out of touch with our own and each other's sexuality it is no wonder that there are many resulting dysfunctions.

Sacred sexuality on the other hand, holds lovemaking as a beautiful and sacred union with absolutely no guilt, shame or negativity associated with any of it. It regards sex  as a celebration. And the focus is on giving and receiving, and honouring and worshipping each other. These unconditional acts of love can last for many many hours without one even realizing it. These gifts that lovers give to each other help to enhance and deepen the connections that exist between them as well as enable them to be one with each other's sexual energy. It is this combined heightened sexual energy and the awareness of it that truly takes lovemaking to whole new levels and endless possibilities.

"To most in our society, sex is a release and nothing more. However the highest sexual relationship is an absolute worship, reverence, devotion and love, where the aura and subtle bodies merge.....It can become the worship of divinity in the temple of their lover's body."
